About Me

Executive Director: The Institute for Global Civic Culture

Teaching and Learning: I have been teaching and learning with high school students in and out of the classroom for 10 years.  I believe learning needs to break through the bricks and mortar/one best system thinking as soon as possible and I'm working on multiple projects that may help.

Current research focus: Integrated and integrative eLearning, ePortfolios, and new democratic learning spaces devoted to building a global civic culture.

Education: I have degrees from University of Puget Sound and University of Maine.  I am currently pursuing a Ph.D focused on 21st century democratic|individualized learning communities at University of Maine (Ed Brazee, Chair).

Current Work:

Executive Director|Institute for Global Civic Culture: a non profit foundation focusing on research and development in learning.

Co-Founder|Global Civ: A New learning ecology where students co-create rigerous project based learning using internationally recognized standards and the most sophisticated eLearning tools available.  First Program launch Summer 2010.
